The most dangerous intersection for accidents in the United States during 1999 and 2000 was the corner of Flamingo Road and Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines, Florida, just north of Miami.
So reported State Farm Insurance in 2001. During the two-year period, there were 357 reported crashes at this intersection, which is surrounded by three malls and the C.B. Smith Park. According to State Farm statistics, nearly 90,000 cars pass through the intersection daily. The intersection averages nearly one auto accident every two days, costing over $1 million dollars in property damage each year.
Life is full of dangerous intersections.
