A 2006 survey conducted by Beliefnet.com indicates a link between sex and spirituality. According to the survey results, a majority of religious people do not see sex as guilt inducing or sinful, but rather as a divine blessing. Some of the results of the survey:

•     people who see sex as at least part of their spiritual lives: 55 percent

•     women who see sex as a gift from God: 46 percent

•     men who see sex as a gift from God: 51 percent

•     people who have prayed before or after sex: 38 percent
