Similarly, some years there are Christian movies that do well in theaters like War Room and God’s Not Dead, while others are probably counting on DVD and Blu-Ray sales.

Looking at the box office numbers from 2018, I Can Only Imagine—the highest grossing Christian movie last year—would fall in the middle of the films nominated for Best Picture, according to Box Office Mojo.
