THE PRESS secretary of the White House has one job—to speak on behalf of the head of state, represented in the White House by the president. What he thinks is irrelevant. Whether he agrees with the president is irrelevant. His job is to speak on behalf of the president. Period. Then, he should be ready and willing to take questions. “Be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15).261

Col. 4:6; 1 Peter 3:15
WHAT kind of fireman would I be if I didn’t warn you about fire? What kind of policeman would I be if I didn’t warn you about criminals? What kind of doctor would I be if I didn’t tell you about disease? What kind of pastor would I be if I didn’t warn people about hell?
I would rather love folks into heaven, but if I have to scare them there, that will work too.
What would you say about a fireman who saw your house burning down and who simply said, “It’ll burn itself out in a little while”?
What would you say about a policeman who saw juveniles vandalizing your property and simply said, “Well, you know, boys will be boys”?
What would you say about a doctor who, when telling you that you had cancer, simply said, “Take two aspirin and rest”?
You would probably say they are not taking their jobs seriously. And I would not be taking my job seriously if I did not tell people about the place called hell.262

SUPPOSE you are a doctor and there was a disease that everybody had. Even though their symptoms were different, everybody who caught the disease died and everybody had it. Let’s also say that you, as a skilled physician, came up with the cure.
What would you say about a doctor who knew everybody else was dying without a solution, and wouldn’t share the solution he had?
This is the situation for many Christians. The Bible says that the whole world is dead in trespasses and in sin. If we have met Jesus, we’ve found the cure. How dare we keep it to ourselves! How dare we be on our way to heaven and not care that people are drowning and on their way to a Christless eternity! How can we not make sharing the gospel a priority!263
