FEBRUARY BIBLE STUDIES

Last month we began a yearlong concentration on the Old Testament by considering several foundational concepts. We then looked carefully at the Creation account in Genesis 1–2 and some related issues.

This month we study the fall of man and the resulting expansion of sin as seen in Genesis 3–5. Along with R. C.’s teaching, a number of the lessons in this study are taken from The Three Faces of Adam, a Ligonier series by Dr. John H. Gerstner. These studies (a theological anthropology) will help us to consider more deeply what it meant for Adam to be created in God’s image, to rebel against God, and what God has done to redeem His people from rebellion.

We conclude the month by looking at the aftermath of Adam’s sin as Cain murders Abel and the world begins its descent into anarchy and wickedness. In order to understand how we are to live fully Coram Deo (before the face of God, in His presence), we must understand where we are as His creatures. Ask God to give you new understanding this month as you seek to study His Word.
