A friend or neighbor may tell us, “Well, I have gone to this certain church all my life. I have been confirmed, baptized and all the rest. I am going to take the chance that it will get me through.”

My friend, your odds are not that good—you do not even have a chance. If your relation to Jesus Christ is not a saving relation, then you are on your own, without a guide and without a compass. It is not a chance you have; it is suicide that you are committing. It is not a chance in ten times 10,000. It is either be right or be dead; in this case, be right or be eternally lost.
