Lessons From God's Wondrous Creation – Bible study

Young Elihu came to Job to humble him before God by pointing to the majesty of the creation (Job 36-37). His lesson was, if you cannot explain God in His works, which you can see, how can you explain God in the mystery of righteousness and His dealings with sinful man (Job 37:14-24).

God has instructed man from the very beginning in two ways revelation of Himself in His word (Gal. 1:9-12; Ephesians 3:1-3) and in His creation (Romans 1:18-20). Both are marvelous, inspiring and beautiful. The Word shows us Gods heart, His nature and character. The creation shows us His awesome power and majestic goodness (Psalm 33:8-9; Psalm 148:5; cf. Genesis 1).

We, like Job, have stood in awe of the thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning (Revelation 8:5 NASB) that He created and have been frightened by the lightning to the ends of the earth .. which he lets it loose (Job 37:3 NASB). Even unbelievers are awed and thrilled by glorious sunsets, snow-capped mountains, mighty oceans, vast skies and starry nights. His creation sends an unmistakable message the hand that made us is divine.

Both Job and David contemplated the wonders of all of Gods creation (Job 9:1-14; Psalm 19:1-6). They both, however, concluded that His eternal attention was centered upon man whom He made in His image and after His likeness (Job 7:17-18; Psalm 8:4-6; cf. Genesis 1:26-27).
