OFFENSE

AWHILE back, there was a big deal about people burning the U.S. flag. Now, one could say, “Well, why are people getting all upset about a piece of burning cloth?” The reason has to do with what the cloth represents. People were upset because that cloth, Old Glory, represents our country. In fact, it became a Supreme Court issue. When a person burns the flag, they are in effect defaming the nation by defaming a symbol. A burning cloth represents a burning country. It’s the principle of the matter.

When you are destructive in your own sinful life and it rubs off on other people, you are causing a division in the body because you are drawing people away from Christ and toward your sin.651
