Mark 15:38 says the veil in the temple was ripped from the top to the bottom. What does this mean?

The  tabernacle in the wilderness and the temples that replaced it were filled with symbols which pointed to the coming Messiah and God's plan of salvation.  Paul, referring to the high priests under the Law Covenant wrote, "They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. That is … Continue reading “Mark 15:38 says the veil in the temple was ripped from the top to the bottom. What does this mean?”

What does scripture say about the leadership of man in the family?

Scriptures show the position of a man is the head of the family. “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.”  Ephesians 5:23 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.”  Ephesians 6:1 From this … Continue reading “What does scripture say about the leadership of man in the family?”

Will small children who died between the ages of 1 to 3 have a resurrection? If yes, will they be resurrected as babies and will their parents recognize them?

Jesus promised a resurrection for all in John 5:28, 29. "…all in the graves will hear His voice and will come forth."  Those who die as infants will come forth come forth as infants recognizable to their parents. This resurrection to life on earth in Christ's peaceable kingdom is what Jesus taught us to pray … Continue reading “Will small children who died between the ages of 1 to 3 have a resurrection? If the tree of knowledge is so sacred, why was it not protected by God to totally prevent Adam and Eve from eating the fruit at all costs? Instead He used the Serpent to tempt Eve into committing the First Cardinal Sin.

God's creations, both angelic and human, were not made robotic, but were given brains to think and reason with and make their own decisions.  One of God's angels, Lucifer, fell from heaven due to his prideful ambitions, and chose to influence the serpent in an attempt to undermine God's plan.  "For thou hast said in … Continue reading “If the tree of knowledge is so sacred, why was it not protected by God to totally prevent Adam and Eve from eating the fruit at all costs? Why some pastors cannot be like other believers? I have seen pastors who treat believers in their church like they are their property, always asking for their thithing.

Anyone who is a pastor/minister should be gently directing the flock, as a shepherd does with the sheep. Two scriptural passages clearly state this.  “Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, … Continue reading “Why some pastors cannot be like other believers? What is the definition of gossip according to the Bible?

Proverbs 20:19 & Proverbs 11:13(NIV), “A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much…a trustworthy person keeps a secret.” Both scriptures define gossip as a betrayal of a confidence. When people spread secrets (whether true or false), they are engaging in gossip and are to be avoided. Whereas, a trustworthy person will … Continue reading “What is the definition of gossip according to the Bible?”

What were the professions of the disciples? Should we follow their professions?

Assuming we’re talking about occupations and not doctrinal or creedal “professions”… The Apostle Paul was a tentmaker. The Apostles Peter, Andrew, John and James were fishermen. Matthew was a tax collector, before he became an apostle. We are not told what the others did. Should we follow their professions? Once we link the word “should” … Continue reading “What were the professions of the disciples? Should we follow their professions?”

If you are called to be an evangelist, should the paster of the church ordain you and give you a certificate?

“When they had ordained . . . in every church . . . they commended them to the Lord.” Acts 14:23KJV  In this Scripture, ‘ordained’ is the Greek word chierotoneo meaning to “stretch forth the hand” or “to vote”. So, we see that the early Church chose servants by the worshippers voting for their leaders … Continue reading “If you are called to be an evangelist, should the paster of the church ordain you and give you a certificate?”
