18. Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance ] In 1Ki 7:47, And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many.

(18) Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance.1Ki. 7:47, And Solomon left all the vessels (unweighed) from very great abundance. Our text may be due to a copyist, whose eye wandered to the beginning of the next verse; but it is possible that the chronicler missed the significance of the verb used in Kings, and therefore substituted an easier term. The further changesunto great abundance, for the weight, &c.suggest this account of the matter.
