the valley of craftsmen ] R.V. marg. ‘Or, Gehaharashim ’. See 1Ch 4:14, ‘Joab the father of Gehaharashim (marg. Or, the valley of craftsmen); for they were craftsmen.’ The R.V. treats the expression in that passage as a proper name, in the present as a term descriptive of a locality. The LXX. transliterates : the Vulg. gives ‘valle artificum.’
