From Ekron even unto the sea,…. The Mediterranean sea, or the west, as the Targum:

all that [lay] near Ashdod, with their villages; this is the Azotus of the New Testament, Ac 8:40, another of the principalities of the Philistines, of which and Ekron [See comments on Am 1:8] and
