Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,

Ziklag(See on 1Sa27:6). It was during his retirement in that Philistine town thathe was joined in rapid succession by the heroes who afterwardscontributed so much to the glory of his reign.

(5) Jerimoth.A Benjamite name (1Ch. 7:7-8).

Bealiah.Baal is Jah. (Comp. Note on 1Ch. 8:33.) Such names indicate that Baal was once a title of the God of Israel.

The Haruphite.Neh. 7:24 mentions the sons of Hariph just before the sons of Gibeon. The Hebrew margin here is Hariphite.
