And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ [hair], and red skins of rams, and badgers’ skins, brought [them].

23, 24. The contributions of the men; viz. the other things mentioned in vv. 6, 7 (= Exo 25:3-5).

And every man with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet,…. Wool or yarn of either of the colours; unless it can be supposed there might be with some of them the ingredients with which colours were made, brought with them out of Egypt:

and fine linen; they had brought out of Egypt, and for which that country was famous:

and goats’ [hair]; which in those countries was so long as to be shorn like the wool of sheep:

and red skins of the rams; died red, for it does not mean any that were naturally so, of which none are known:

and badgers’ skins; see Ex 25:5 of each of these, such who had them in their possession, and their hearts were willing to part with them:

brought [them]; to Moses, to the tabernacle or tent where he was.

1Ch_29:3; 1Ch_29:6; 1Ch_29:9 . Upon all these verses one general observation seems to meet us; that where the Lord makes a soul willing, there the Lord accepts and blesses the gift. Hag 2:8 ; Luk 21:3-4 . The labour of the women is particularly noticed with honourable respect. See also in the gospel, Mat 24:13 ; Act 9:39 ; Phi 4:3 ; Rom 16:3 .
