The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;
12. Gezer ] The situation of this royal city has lately (see above, Jos 10:33) been discovered by M. Clermont Ganneau at Tel-el-Jezar, about four miles from Amws (Emmaus), and on the western boundary of the territory of Ephraim. The ruins are extensive, with rock-hewn tombs, quarries, and remains of an aqueduct.

Gezer: Gezer appears to have situated in the tribe of Ephraim, near Beth-horon, between it and the sea. Eusebius and Jerome place it four miles north of Nicopolis or Emmaus. Jos 10:33
