BACKSLIDING
Heb_3:12
I. The Subjects. "Take heed, brethren!" Only those who have been made nigh unto God can backslide from Him.
II. The Cause. "An evil heart of unbelief." Unbelief is in itself the fruit of an evil heart.
III. The Manner. "Departing from the living God." The trust of the heart turning away from God to something else.
IV. The Preventative. "Take heed!" Examine yourselves.
