Unfortunately, Scripture does not contain very many examples of good human fathers. Good parents will not allow their children to be absorbed into the culture of the world, with drugs, tattoos, hair coloring, nose rings, tongue rings, etc. David had to learn that, by withholding discipline from his children, he actually participated in their murder. Every third scripture in the Bible refers to some aspect of fatherhood.
