We have far less energy and are more subdued. We humbly and soberly recognize that without the sacrifice of Christ (symbolized by the 16 offerings, as well the many meal and drink offerings), we would not be reconciled to God. The multiple offerings coupled with the command to fast teach us to humble ourselves, enabling us to be of service to others, imitating the mindset and attitude of our Elder Brother Jesus Christ.
