description: (hide) Clyde Finklea, asking why we are here, refers to the marriage ceremony in Revelation 19:7-9 and recounts the steps of the marriage preparation of the bride from purification to betrothal phase to bridal chamber. The Millennium depicts the Marriage Supper, in which all who have been called and chosen must present themselves in an appropriate wedding garment, signifying repentance and sanctification. ‘Make ready focuses upon those gifts, beginning with baptism and the receipt of the Holy Spirit that Christ has given to the church in order to make herself ready by acts of righteous character. The guests constitute the 144,000 and the innumerable multitude who have cleansed their sins in the blood of the Lamb at the time of the Millennium. We are celebrating the greatest wedding banquet ever prepared, when the guests will be invited into the banquet.
