(15) The sons of Moses.See Exo. 2:22 for Gershom, Exo. 18:3-4 for both. Gershom means expulsion (comp Gen. 3:24), and is a variant form of Gcrshon. What is said in Exo. 2:22 is an allusive play on the name, not a derivation of it. Eliezer, God is help, a distinct name from Eleazar (1Ch. 23:22), God hath helped, or, is a helper.
