So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

40. Ahaziah his son ] Ahaziah was the elder son of Ahab, and died subsequently in consequence of a fall (2Ki 1:17) and was succeeded by his brother Jehoram (2Ki 3:1).
