Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the LORD [is] upon you.

Now hear me therefore,…. And not only hear, but be obedient:
and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken of your brethren; their women, sons and daughters, even all of them, the whole 200,000:
for the fierce wrath of God is upon you; hangs over your heads, and will fall upon you, unless you do this.

Pierce wrath.Heat of anger, i.e., hot anger. Lev. 25:39, expressly forbids the permanent enslaving of Israelites by Israelites.
