And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and a hin of oil to an ephah.

7. For the new moons the burnt-offering shall be a young bullock, and the same meal-offering and libation as for the sabbath.

Verse 7. According as his hand shall attain unto] According to his ability, to what the providence of God has put in his hand, i.e., his power. This proportion of offerings is different from that prescribed by the Mosaic law, Nu 15:4-12.

Eze 46:7 And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah.

Ver. 7. An ephah for a bullock. ] This was to shadow out, saith Polanus, the communion of the saints with Christ, and that Christ offereth and presenteth his Church with himself and in himself to God the Father.

According as his hand shall attain unto, ] i.e., As he is able and willing, for God straineth upon none.

Eze 46:7. According as his hand shall attain means that a man was required to give according to hia ability. Whether many or few, ail animals must be without blemish and be offered with a small amount of olive oil as in verse 5.
