25. And the stars of heaven shallfall“and upon the earth distress of nations, withperplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing themfor fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on theearth” (Luk 21:25; Luk 21:26).
and the powers that are inheaven shall be shakenThough the grandeur of this languagecarries the mind over the head of all periods but that of Christ’sSecond Coming, nearly every expression will be found used of theLord’s coming in terrible national judgments: as of Babylon (Isa13:9-13); of Idumea (Isa 34:1;Isa 34:2; Isa 34:4;Isa 34:8-10); of Egypt(Eze 32:7; Eze 32:8);compare also Psa 18:7-15;Isa 24:1; Isa 24:17-19;Joe 2:10; Joe 2:11,&c. We cannot therefore consider the mere strength of thislanguage a proof that it refers exclusively or primarily to theprecursors of the final day, though of course in “that day“it will have its most awful fulfilment.

And the stars of heaven shall fall,…. The Jewish Rabbins and doctors, who fell off from the written word, and compiled their “Misna”, or oral law, their book of traditions, and set it up above the Bible, the foundation of which was laid immediately upon their dispersion.

The stars of heaven shall fall. A rendering which falls very far short of the graphic original : oiJ ajsterev esontai ejk tou oujranou piptontev : the stars shall be falling from heaven. So Rev., thus giving the sense of continuousness, as of a shower of falling stars.

3) “Shall be shaken.” (saleuthesontai) “They will be shaken,” those with whom we wrestle today, disturbed, affected, shaken up, as the Lord ends the Battle of Armageddon and begins His reign on and over the earth; Eph 6:12-13; For the devil is to be bound during this coming one thousand years, and his band of demon spirit powers will be restrained in frustration, without their Governor during that time on earth, Rev 20:1-3.
